Portrait of Sarah Young

Hi I'm Sarah, a product designer based in Toronto!

I am an alumni of the Bachelor of Interaction Design program at Sheridan College and am currently looking for work within the product design space.

I’m motivated by the desire to impact peoples’ lives by solving meaningful problems with a human centred focus. I enjoy opportunities to bring order to complex systems through design.

When I’m not working on design projects you can find me spending time outdoors, volunteering, travelling, exploring, taking on sewing projects, thrifting, making an aesthetic charcuterie board, or trying something new!

My Values

Start with Empathy
The only way to create products that can truly have an impact on peoples’ lives is to understand and learn from their experiences. With this understanding, designers can uncover the challenges they face and work towards creating a solution which addresses those challenges.
Design is Storytelling
Storytelling and narrative structure are powerful tools that allow designers to craft their users’ journey to create memorable and engaging user experiences. A storytelling approach is the most impactful way to build an emotional connection with your users and inspire action.
Design Collaboratively
Two heads is better than one. As designers, working with others allows us to build off of each other and share perspectives to design more holistically. Collaboration can help inspire creativity and bring designers to reach more innovative and impactful solutions.
